Job Description:

US itek Incorporated has an immediate full time opening for a Network Administrator. Our Network Administrators are responsible for onboarding and supporting small and medium scale enterprise business networks, both remotely, and on-site. The Network Administrator will also work cross functionally with other US itek support teams to deliver comprehensive IT solutions. This position requires excellent communication and strong technical skills.

The Network Administrator will be responsible for onboarding new customers through our proprietary onboarding process, creating network documentation, performing system benchmarking, along with providing reactive and proactive technical support. The position also requires a vast technical background and understanding of sound business principles and IT best practices. The position requires a strong business intuition, excellent verbal and written skills, and the ability to professionally present ideas at all levels of the corporate structure.

Specific Responsibilities as a Network Administrator:

  • Visit client sites in the Buffalo Niagara Region to perform proactive and reactive network support services
  • Consult with clients on technology best practices and solutions to business technology problems
  • Meet with clients to discuss business technology needs and available options and solutions
  • Technical documentation of existing system configurations
  • Help customers keep technology in alignment with business objectives
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the US itek service catalog and how our products and services relate to customer needs
  • Enter all work performed in US itek PSA system
  • Remain up-to-date with current and emerging business technology
  • Escalate service or project issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels
  • Understand and utilize US itek managed services support tools and techniques
  • Be able to be in an on-call rotation

Requirements:

Critical Competencies:

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge and background in supporting the following technologies:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands on experience in small to large scale enterprise network design, implementation, and support
  • Active Directory design, configuration and maintenance
  • Exchange Server 2003, 2007 and 2010 design, configuration and maintenance
  • Hosted Services including Office 365, SharePoint, VDI, RemoteApp and other cloud services
  • Hypervisors: Microsoft Hyper V Server, VMware ESXi, vCenter, vSphere
  • Windows Remote Desktop Server and Terminal Server
  • Server hardware support including: Lenovo, HP DL, ML, Dell PowerEdge, IBM X Series
  • iSCSI or fiber channel SAN, NAS such as HP, Dell, NetApp, Promise or EMC
  • Backup solutions such as Appassure Replay, Appassure 5, Backup Exec, Shadow Protect, Net Backup, and other industry backup technologies
  • Corporate Anti-Virus Solutions, including ESET, Symantec, Sophos, Trend Micro or others
  • Practical and applied experience with network technologies including routers, switches and business class firewalls
  • Citrix Metaframe, Presentation Server and/or Xen App administration
  • DNS and hosted services management

Additional Skills & Preferred Certifications:

  • Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, , MCITP, MCSA, or MCSE, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP

Our Computer & Network Support Specialists are responsible for troubleshooting and resolution of reactive service issues. This customer service position requires both excellent communication and technical skills. Calls are routed and assigned to Computer & Network Support Specialist on a first come first serve, and priority bases. Basic metrics for performance are measured so that the customer experience can be measured, and high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained. This opportunity is as fast paced as it is gratifying. Our Computer & Network Support Specialist learn new technology quickly, and are some of the brightest and most talented engineers in the IT and managed services industry, being able to touch and remediate a wide selection of technology each day. This job is great from someone who desires new challenges and enjoys helping customers better use their technology.

Specific Responsibilities as a Computer & Network Support Specialist:

  • Maintaining a personal service ticket queue
  • Prioritizing assignments with the Service Desk Coordinator
  • Phone communication with clients
  • Use of remote control and system monitoring software

  • Service ticket and Knowledgebase documentation
  • Time entry and management
  • Research knowledge base repositories for technical solutions and configurations
  • Work within the framework of US itek CareFree Service Desk and customer service processes

Requirements:
