The new $1 million US itek Inc. building set to open this summer will serve as the company’s headquarters, computer manufacturing facility, technology retail store and employee Shangri-La.
The facility, the culmination of President David Stinner’s vision, will stand out more and better reflect his brand, product and service offerings.
“The purpose of the move is to make us a visible IT company,” said Stinner, who founded it in 1994. “We want to be the company that everyone in Western New York thinks of when they think of computers and IT services.”
US itek employs 16 and had 2011 revenues of $2.5 million. It makes desktop computers, as well as those for industrial clients. That includes computers which end up in machines that cut metal or fabric, or in digital signage.
The company focuses on serving the legal, medical, manufacturing, printing and logistics industries. One person oversees the health-care IT vertical market, and Stinner is point man for the others. He called the new building at 1016 Niagara Falls Blvd. a living showroom for the company’s services and products.
“Instead of being a back-office-type operation that no one sees, we want to be front facing and show customers how we can manage their help desks and how cloud services are delivered from the data center,” Stinner said.
“We’ll have the latest technology available that people can touch and feel, and a meeting room and training facility where they can see how the technology works before they buy,” he said.
Discouraged that young, talented people leave Western New York for other cities, he designed the new work environment to include a gym, game room and coffee bar. He said he’s hopeful that younger tech pros will see it as a nice place to work.
